Hartley Gilbert & Sullivan Society

Welcome to the website of Hartley Gilbert and Sullivan Society. Here you will find out all you need to know about the society and the productions we have produced over the years. We also provide information about Gilbert & Sullivan and all 13 of their operettas. The Society began its life as an independent society in 1996 following years of being part of the Hartley WI chior. We perform one main show every year in May and in the autumn we do a charity scratch concert version of one of the shows which are always terrific fun. We hope to see you at one of our shows in the near future or perhaps you might even be interested in being in one of our shows or helping out backstage. New members are always very welcome.

Thank You

We welcome any feedback on the website or the society in general. Any comments can be left on the Guestbook page.

Thank You

Hartley G&S Committee

Are you interested in performing?

If you are a performer, G&S enthusiast or not, any interest in joining us that you may have is welcome!  Do you like to sing and dance?  Whatever your age, you're certainly welcome here!
We especially require male performers, particularly tenors.

Do you fancy working backstage?

If perfoming is not for you then there are always a huge number of jobs to be done backstage such as set building, stage management, lighting, wardrobe, make up and props. No experience required (though a certain technical know how would be useful for some of these roles). Whatever your age or skills you'll be welcomed just as warmly as performers.

Do you just want to watch?

What is a show without an audience?  If you enjoy G&S or even just musical theatre, why not come and watch us?  We are always happy to see both new and familiar faces in our audiences.

Feel free to explore our website using the links above and discover more about the world of G&S and our society.
